As soon as I heard that the shooter was South Korean ... I began to prepare for the aftermath that would surely come forth. It would be inevitable that someone out there would use this event as an excuse for pointing fingers at someone.
Here are the usual suspects
- Gun control - Not only have gun control activists come to use this event ... so has the NRA! They're claiming that if guns were more prevalent a student or faculty member would have been able to defend themselves.
- Racists - I'm waiting for Adam Corolla or some other racist knucklehead to make a "ching chong bang bang" joke
- Jack Thompson - linking video games to violence
Strangely enough, the responses I've heard came from some surprising sources
Kenneth Eng has posted a youtube video about the incident. (It has been removed already). I did get a chance to see it. Frankly, it was disgusting ... he basically laughed at all the victims saying they deserved what they got. He may have been "joking" but it's hard to tell when a sociopath is kidding. Regardless, I'd really like to see this guy disappear. (link)

Most of you probably know that I've been involved in theater since UC Berkeley and Theatre Rice . Attempting to stay involved after college ended proved to be somewhat difficult due to working full time and such. However, Duy Nguyen, one of the founders of Theatre Rice got together a few of us and decided to give us some stage time to get back into things. We had several shows last year, and after a short hiatus, we're back!
